Seaside Heroes Park
In honor of Veterans Day weekend, today’s “Tourist in your own city” visit was to Seaside Heroes Park in Torrance.
This small park honors Army soldiers Cpl. Joseph Anzack, Jr., 20, Cpl. Micah S. Gifford, 27, and Capt. Matthew C. Ferrara, 24.
The three young men grew up in this area, attending Seaside Elementary Calle Mayor Middle, and South High Schools. As boys, they enjoyed scouting, baseball, track and field, wrestling and football but as young men, they all chose to serve our country.
They became members of the United States Army and all made the ultimate sacrifice, giving their lives while at war in Iraq (Joseph and Micah) and Afghanistan (Matthew).
They died within an eleven month period (December 2006 - November 2007). May everyone who visits this park realizes the sacrifice made by these Soldiers so that we may live in freedom, and may our "Seaside Heroes" be remembered and inspire future generations.
We may not know them all, but we owe them all.
Terranea Resort
For today’s tourist in my own city, I visited the beautiful Terranea Resort.
This resort has been filmed in many movies including Pirates of the Caribbean, has delicious restaurants, coffee shops, a golf course, and has breathtaking views of the ocean.
The best part? It’s just a short drive from SoCal cities., yet feels worlds away from the busy 405 freeway.
I'd highly recommend this resort for all ages. If you're hungry, you'll enjoy the many restaurant choices they offer including Nelson's, Bashi, and Catalina Kitchen.
Full? You can build an appetite with a round of golf on their nine-hole course that totals approximately 1,239 yards from the back tees.
You won't be able to beat the coastal view.
A fun fact may not know is that it was once Marine Land (Think Sea World).
I'd give Terranea Resort a solid 4.5 stars for its beautiful scenery and delicious restaurants. I'd recommend reviewing the restaurant options in advance as some may think it is too pricey.

Have you ever walked around your own city and pretended you were a tourist? You’d be surprised how much there is to see and how little you probably know about the place you live. That’s why I’m excited to bring #touristinmyowncity back to my blog. It’s important to take time away from work and just enjoy LIFE.
I will be featuring a local place, restaurant, or nature trail weekly on my blog with a review. Today I visited Bowlero Torrance and was so amazed by the complete remodel.
Make sure you check out the neat arcade that even has Mario Cart, Candy Crush, and Pac Man! If you've had a long day, you wouldn't mind visiting their full-bar with a wood-burning fireplace and pool table.
The alley plays fun, upbeat music and even has TV projectors above every lane! The screens play funny videos, news, and music videos.
It is a great place to host an event, meet with friends after work, go on a date, or family.
Hungry? Consider their five-pound hamburger. This enormous burger will feed 5 of your friends & more!
I will rate this bowling alley 5 stars for its cleanliness, friendly staff, delicious food, and the wide selection of games, bowling balls, and music.

Welcome home, Sharon!
A few months ago, I began searching for classmates from my NHS 2007 class in hopes of inviting everyone to our reunion. I found Sharon on Facebook after losing contact since.
She realized I was a Realtor and asked for some guidance. We began looking for homes, but found the ONE on the day of my best friend’s wedding and two days prior to my trip to Iran.
I told her I was going to be limited in my abilities to help her that day, however, had an amazing team that would be able to assist from A-Z. I’d like thank, Tad, from my team, The Kondo Group, for going above and beyond to make sure my dear friend Sharon got this beautiful home.

I'd like to wish huge congratulations to my clients on the purchase of their beautiful home! I met them while hosting an open house and upon walking into the home, I quickly noticed the parents spoke little English and though we could not communicate in large part, there was a shared joy in one another's company. With the help of their two younger children, I learned that the father had been looking for a horse property for a year and he finally reached a successful point in his life where he'd be able to fulfill his dreams of owning horses. After hearing his touching story and knowing he earned every dollar he's made through hard work, perseverance and the American dream, I felt in my heart this was his home. We wrote an offer and after some negotiation, the buyers and sellers were satisfied with terms to move forward. I couldn't be happier for the family as they begin a new chapter in this home and for the birth of their first granddaughter. They've inspired me to dream deeper and to never let stigmas limit my ability to success. To many years of happiness, health and love ahead. A special thank you to my partners Tad and Michelle for helping especially this past week diligently to have a successful closing. Couldn't have done it without you.

The City of Rancho Palos Verdes provides goats in specific, enclosed areas to provide natural brush clearance for wildfire safety.
Residents of the area can find them throughout different areas and are welcome to feed them through the fence.
