Terranea Resort

Shima 0 comments 03.11.2017

For today’s tourist in my own city, I visited the beautiful Terranea Resort.

This resort has been filmed in many movies including Pirates of the Caribbean, has delicious restaurants, coffee shops, a golf course, and has breathtaking views of the ocean.

The best part? It’s just a short drive from SoCal cities., yet feels worlds away from the busy 405 freeway.

I'd highly recommend this resort for all ages. If you're hungry, you'll enjoy the many restaurant choices they offer including Nelson's, Bashi, and Catalina Kitchen.

Full? You can build an appetite with a round of golf on their nine-hole course that totals approximately 1,239 yards from the back tees.

You won't be able to beat the coastal view.

A fun fact may not know is that it was once Marine Land (Think Sea World).

I'd give Terranea Resort a solid 4.5 stars for its beautiful scenery and delicious restaurants. I'd recommend reviewing the restaurant options in advance as some may think it is too pricey.

Meet the Goats

Shima 0 comments 31.05.2017

The City of Rancho Palos Verdes provides goats in specific, enclosed areas to provide natural brush clearance for wildfire safety.

Residents of the area can find them throughout different areas and are welcome to feed them through the fence.

Have you visited the goats yet?

Nothing beats a great outdoor workout, except being able to have your dog join you!

Here are my favorite local dog friendly parks and trails in the South Bay!

Palos Verdes Goats

You may have seen groups of goats scattered across the Palos Verdes Nature Preserve recently and no, you’re not dreaming! The goats are a beginning stage in helping restore a 12-acre portion of the 1,400-acre preserve that was burned in a fire in 2009.

According to L.A. Times, “The goats, which range in size from 75 to 150 pounds, are positioned to gobble up all the invasive weeds so native plants and insects can move back in and survive.”

With the help of goats, we will soon have natural brush clearance!
