Yellow Mustard Flowers in Palos Verdes

If you’ve ever visited the Palos Verdes Peninsula in the spring, you’ve probably noticed the hills covered in bright yellow mustard blooms. 🌼

These plants can grow up to 6–7 feet tall, creating some pretty incredible views across the Hill.

While they’re beautiful to look at, keep in mind that once they dry out, they can also become a brushfire hazard, which is why you’ll often see them cleared later in the season.

According to @palosverdespulse, some of the best places to see the blooms include:

• Palos Verdes Drive South
• Portuguese Bend Reserve
• George F. Canyon Preserve
• Linden H. Chandler Preserve
• White Point Nature Preserve

Who knew 𝐰𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐩𝐚𝐩𝐞𝐫 would be making such a comeback? It has become quite popular in home design because it allows homeowners to add a fun, unique, and personal touch to their space. (Hence the crazy cat lady design) 🐈‍⬛💁🏽‍♀️

It’s also a great option for parents who want to change things up as their child grows and transitions into different age groups. 👶🏼➡️🧒🏼

Common places wallpaper is used include bathrooms, laundry rooms, nurseries, and home offices or libraries.

Wallpaper is also known to be durable and can last 15+ years! According to experts, if it’s installed properly, wallpaper can last three times longer than paint. 😯

Personally, I love the texture wallpaper can bring to a room as it instantly transforms the entire vibe.

Hungry Kids during Spring Break

It’s Spring Break for many parents… and you know what that means? The kids are ALWAYS hungry! 😅

A great trick I learned while babysitting many moons ago is to skip the boring snack and create individual charcuterie boards instead! 👦👧🍎 🧀

Not only are they a fun way to “trick” your kids into eating veggies, but they also encourage them to slow down and enjoy each bite instead of devouring everything in seconds.

These boards are also perfect for gatherings with friends. They help prevent germs from spreading and double as a cute decorative display. 🙅🏽‍♀️🦠✨

The Terranea Discovery Trail

The Terranea Discovery Trail is an interpretive trail along the blufftop, with a small pocket beach and tide pools (not wheelchair accessible) below Vicente Bluffs. 🏖

The trail features beautiful wildflowers and is suitable for all skill levels. 🚶‍♂️

The trail is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail, but must be kept on leash. 🐕

𝑯𝒂𝒑𝒑𝒚 𝒇𝒊𝒓𝒔𝒕 𝒅𝒂𝒚 𝒐𝒇 𝒔𝒑𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑯𝒂𝒑𝒑𝒚 𝑵𝒐𝒘𝒓𝒖𝒛 to my fellow Iranians!

Nowruz translates to “new day” and is the epitome of a new year.

Iranians all over the world celebrate a fresh beginning with several festivities held throughout the month. Some include visiting family, giving money to children, jumping over a fire, and even having a picnic with loved ones to conclude the festivities. 🧺

Amongst the most popular tradition is setting up a Haft Sin table on a sofreh where items starting with the letter, Sín, also known as, the letter S, (س) are placed. We even have goldfish! 🥚 🪙 🍎

Every family creates a setup with their own touch, creativity, and love.

Haft Sin displays are also often seen at Iranian weddings in hopes of commencing the newlywed's marriage in bliss. I am grateful to have had many versions of the sofreh, all thanks to my Mom.

This year feels very different, but the dream for brighter days has never been stronger.
